A guide to the small places of Greece, written by the people who live there.

GreeceByLocals started from a simple observation: the big islands and cities have a thousand guides, but for the village of fifteen houses, the taverna with no sign, or the tower at the end of the road, information is scattered, outdated or missing. We want to build the guide we wish we had the first time we visited these places.

How we work

Every area and every listing marked "verified" has been checked by us, usually with a phone call to the business itself. The "A local says" box carries what the owner or a resident told us, not visitor reviews. Listings marked "unverified" come from open data and have not been checked yet.

Listing a business is free. We do not write ratings and we do not accept payment to call anything "the best".

Where we start

With Mani, a region with clear borders, its own history and hundreds of small settlements that each deserve a page. If it works here, we will continue to other regions.
